Vatican City, February 3, 2026 — The Office for the Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff has released the liturgical schedule of the Holy Father from February 15 through Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026. The calendar highlights the Lenten retreat, pastoral visits to five Roman parishes, and the Holy Week and Easter celebrations, according to Vatican News.

Pastoral Visits to Five Roman Parishes
The pastoral closeness of the Bishop of Rome to the faithful of his diocese will be expressed through five parish visits in Rome. Most visits will take place in the afternoon, with Mass at 5:00 p.m., except on February 22, when the Holy Father is scheduled to celebrate Mass at 9:00 a.m. at the Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus at Castro Pretorio, near Termini Station.
The first visit is planned for February 15 at the Parish of Mary Queen of Peace. On March 1, the Holy Father will visit the Parish of Jesus the Divine Ascender. This will be followed on March 8 by a visit to the Parish of the Presentation of Mary, and on March 15 to the Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Ash Wednesday and the Lenten Retreat
The Lenten season will begin on Ash Wednesday, February 18, when the Holy Father will preside over Mass at the Basilica of Saint Sabina. Prior to Mass, he will lead the traditional penitential procession from the nearby Church of Saint Anselm to Saint Sabina.
As is customary, from the afternoon of the First Sunday of Lent (February 22) through Friday, February 27, the Holy Father will take part in the Lenten spiritual retreat together with the Roman Curia at the Apostolic Palace.
Holy Week and Easter Celebrations
Following Palm Sunday on March 29, the Paschal Triduum will begin on Holy Thursday with the Chrism Mass in the morning at St. Peter’s Basilica, followed by the Mass of the Lord’s Supper at the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran, the cathedral church of the Bishop of Rome.
On Good Friday, the Holy Father will preside over the traditional Way of the Cross at the Colosseum. He will then celebrate the Easter Vigil at St. Peter’s Basilica, followed by Easter Sunday Mass in St. Peter’s Square.
As customary, after the Easter Sunday Mass, the Holy Father will deliver the Easter Message and impart the Urbi et Orbi blessing—to the City and to the World—from the central loggia of St. Peter’s Basilica.
