‘I Want God to Use Me’: Gwen Stefani Hopes to Radiate Divine Light Through Her Talent

Gwen Stefani, the Grammy-winning superstar and co-founder of the iconic rock band No Doubt, recently sat down for an in-depth conversation with Catholic Bible scholar Jeff Cavins to discuss her profound journey of faith.

The interview, hosted by the prayer app Hallow, took place within the serene walls of a Catholic church. Stefani opened up about the pillars of her spiritual life, including motherhood, her creative gifts, and the mission to reflect the light of Christ through both her career and personal life.

Faith as the Foundation

While the wide-ranging discussion touched on her Catholic upbringing and spiritual evolution, Stefani placed a special emphasis on her yearning to be a vessel for Christ. She firmly believes her musical talents are gifts from God, carrying with them a responsibility to be used for His glory.

"I always felt nervous about it because I knew the talent didn't come from me, but at the time, I didn't necessarily know it was from God, or I hadn't recognized Him yet," Stefani explained regarding her musical abilities.

She continued, reflecting on a turning point in her perspective: "But then, I remember at some point in the last 10 years, I said: 'No.' God created this for me to do. And if I don't do it and share it, that is a sin. Learning to accept that God chose me to do this is something I have learned to embrace."
